Federal Incentives (all states)

FBT Exemption (Novated Lease)

Active

EVs under the luxury car tax threshold ($89,332 in 2024–25) are exempt from Fringe Benefits Tax when financed via a novated lease through your employer. This is a significant tax saving — effectively reducing the cost of an eligible EV by $5,000–$15,000 for most employees.

Ask your employer's payroll or a salary packaging provider (e.g. SG Fleet, McMillan Shakespeare, Maxxia)

No Luxury Car Tax for Efficient EVs

Active

EVs with fuel consumption under 7L/100km equivalent are exempt from Luxury Car Tax (LCT) on the portion above the LCT threshold. This benefits buyers of premium EVs that would otherwise attract LCT.
