Things people worry about

The most common EV concerns, with honest answers.

"What if I run out of charge?"

The average Australian drives 34 km a day. Even the cheapest EVs do 300+ km on a charge. You plug in at home overnight and wake up full.

"Charging takes forever."

Home charging happens overnight while you sleep. On road trips, DC fast chargers add 200+ km in 20 to 30 minutes.

"EVs are too expensive."

New EVs start from about $35k. You save $1,500 to $3,000 a year on fuel, servicing is cheaper, and stamp duty exemptions plus the FBT novated lease saving close the gap fast.

"The battery will degrade quickly."

Batteries lose about 2 to 3 percent per year. After 10 years most still have 80%+ of their original range. Warranties cover 8 years or 160,000 km.

"There aren't enough chargers."

For daily driving you just charge at home. Highway routes between capital cities are well covered by Chargefox, Evie, and Tesla Supercharger networks.

"I live in an apartment."

Harder, but not a dealbreaker. Public chargers can fill the gap, and strata laws in NSW, VIC, and QLD have been updated to make it easier to get chargers approved in buildings.
